How to Access User Settings

Any user can customize their personal notification preferences:

  1. Go to Settings

  1. Select Profile

  1. Navigate to the Notifications section

Available User Settings

You can customize notifications for each notification type:

Delivery Channels

For each notification type, you can choose how to receive notifications:

  • Email:

  • Always: Receive email notifications regardless of your online status

  • When Offline: Only receive email notifications when you're not actively using Chain

  • Never: Don't receive email notifications

  • In-App: Toggle to enable/disable notifications within the Chain application

  • SMS:

  • Always: Receive SMS notifications regardless of your online status

  • When Offline: Only receive SMS notifications when you're not actively using Chain

  • Never: Don't receive SMS notifications

Chat Notification Settings

For chat notifications, you have additional options:

  • Message Filter:

  • All Messages: Receive notifications for all messages

  • Non-Team Members Only: Only receive notifications for messages from people outside your team

  • None: Don't receive any chat notifications

  • Automated Messages: Toggle to control whether you receive notifications for AI-generated messages

Default Settings

By default, your notification settings are configured as follows:

Dispatcher and Driver Assigned Notifications

  • Email: Always

  • In-App: Enabled

  • SMS: Always

Team Member Assigned Notifications

  • Email: Never

  • In-App: Disabled

  • SMS: Never

Chat Notifications (Shipment Chat and Post Offer Chat)

  • Email: When Offline

  • In-App: Enabled

  • SMS: When Offline

  • Message Filter: Non-Team Members Only

  • Automated Messages: Disabled

Load Post Broadcast Notifications

  • Email: Always

  • In-App: Enabled

  • SMS: Never

Unread Message Reminder Notifications

  • Email: Always

  • In-App: Enabled

  • SMS: Never

  • Message Filter: Non-Team Members Only

  • Automated Messages: Disabled

Tips for Managing Notifications

  • Reduce Noise: Use the "When Offline" option for email and SMS to avoid duplicate notifications when you're actively using Chain.

  • Focus on Important Messages: Use the "Non-Team Members Only" filter for chat notifications to reduce internal communication noise.

  • Stay Informed: Keep in-app notifications enabled to ensure you don't miss important updates.

  • Override Workspace Settings: If your workspace has disabled certain notifications that you need, you can explicitly enable them in your personal settings.
