When a carrier (dispatcher or driver) is added to a load in Chain, they receive a notification depending on their role and contact method.

Dispatcher Notifications

Dispatchers can be added using either email or cell phone. As soon as a dispatcher is added to a load, they will receive an email notification.

Email Notification example:

Note: This email is sent immediately upon being added to a load. Unlike driver notifications, it does not wait for pickup appointment time.

We may change this logic in the future to match the timing of driver notifications.

Driver Notifications

Drivers are added using a phone number and will receive a text message. This message is controlled via the App Download Configuration, found under:

Settings > App Download

By default, this message is sent 4 hours before the origin appointment time (or the earliest available time on the stop). If no pickup time is available, it sends immediately.

Default Message Sample (Text SMS):

Hello, this is {{Workspace Name}}. We have you picking up a load for us in {{origin.warehouse.address.city}} {{origin.warehouse.address.stateCode}}. This load requires tracking using the Chain Driver App. Please accept tracking. A $150 fee per day will incur for non-compliance.

Note, the {{}} above will auto-popluate values for your workspace and load.
